How to Blow An Interview With Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence...
Even Mariah Carey can't resist her take on "All I Want For Christmas Is You." The holiday-loving diva posted a video that showed her and 5-year-old son Moroccan dancing around the kitchen as her song played in the background. Mariah sported an appropriately seasonal (albeit low-cut) robe with flowing sleeves that occasionally came a wee bit too close to the stove's flame, as she stirred what looked to be tomato sauce. “Are you ready for my sauce?” she asked her pajama-clad son. “I’m almost done!”
Be careful what you ask Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence during a chat. The Passengers co-stars apparently ended a December 22 Australia radio call-in early after co-host Sophie Monk started pressing each about the "most adventurous place" they've had sex. Chris immediately answered”airplane," and joked that he hung from the ceiling “like a bat” to get in the right position, but Jennifer was more reluctant to answer. "I like being safe," she said. "That's what really turns me on." Soon after she answered, the connection abruptly cut off, causing co-host Matty Acton to exclaim, "Sophie, what did you do?"
There was at least one person who didn't appreciate Mark Zuckerberg's dig at Nickelback in his recent virtual assistant demo video: Avril Lavigne, whose estranged husband is the band's lead singer, Chad Kroeger. Last night, Avril posted an open letter to Zuckerberg on her Twitter account in which she said his "jab at Nickelback is in poor taste." She went on to chide the Facebook founder, "When you have a voice like yours, you may want to consider being more responsible with promoting bullying, especially given what's going on in the world today. #SayNoToBullying #TheJokeIsOld #NickelbackHasSoldOver50MillionAlbums." Lavigne was reacting to a lighthearted clip Zuckerberg posted earlier this week, in which his virtual assistant "Jarvis" refused to play Nickelback because the band has "no good songs."
Nick Cannon has revealed that he will be spending the holidays at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to complications from lupus. The 36-year-old America's Got Talent host posted an Instagram photo from the hospital and captioned it, "For all who have been trying to contact me the last few days this is where I've been. And I will be in the hospital through Christmas. All good though, Doctors say I will be back to normal before the New Year. #LupusSucks #Incredible #warrior." This isn't the first time that Nick has faced medical issues during Christmas; he experienced kidney problems in December 2011 while vacationing in Aspen, Colorado, with his family. Nick was scheduled to return to Aspen this year to celebrate the holidays with his ex-wife Mariah Carey and their 5-year-old twins, as well as the singer's new boyfriend, backup dancer Bryan Tanaka.
Celine Dion and KISS are the latest A-list acts to turn down an offer to perform at Donald Trump's inauguration. According to my source, Trump's long-time friend, Las Vegas hotelier Steve Wynn, promised to deliver Celine for the festivities, but failed to do so. Meanwhile, when KISS frontman Gene Simmons was asked by a videographer if he'd ever play Trump's inauguration, his wife responded by repeatedly yelling, "No!" Gene's daughter added, "Good luck finding talent for that one." Gene said he wouldn't play the inauguration because he'd be touring Europe at the time, but his daughter quickly added, "That's not why...They asked and they politely declined." The Mormon Tabernacle Choir's going to sing, though, and the Radio City Rockettes are also confirmed to be doing their thing at the event. The Beach Boys might also be there as well.
In related news, an irate passenger aboard a JetBlue flight that was leaving JFK Airport in New York yesterday morning wound up getting kicked off the plane before takeoff after he berated fellow passenger Ivanka Trump. He yelled at her, "Your father is ruining the country." Remarkably Ivanka was traveling in coach with her three children. He continued, "Why is she on our flight? She should be flying private?" Before the flight boarded, the man's wife tweeted, "Ivanka and Jared [Kushner] at JFK [Terminal 5], flying commercial. My husband chasing them down to harass them."
Everybody seems to have a weird story involving Bill Murray--including Chrissy Teigen. The model/actress tweeted a link to a New Yorker video titled “Strangers share stories of Bill Murray unexpectedly appearing,” and said she had her own random encounter with the actor to tell. "A waiter dropped a plate of half eaten food and said it was from ‘the man at the bar,'" she wrote. That man was Bill Murray. Teigen sadly didn't elaborate on why he gave her the grub (or what the food was), which means we'll just have to use our imaginations to determine his motivation.
Nick Viall, the star of the upcoming 21st season of The Bachelor, has responded to Jennifer Aniston revealing that she's a fan of his. He says, "It's pretty cool that Jennifer Aniston says you're awesome and is rooting for you, so I have no complaints. It's a surreal thing, and it was pretty cool." Jennifer revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month that she was rooting for NIck. "I really like Nick--a lot of people were iffy about Nick at the beginning,” she said. “Let’s make him the Bachelor! He has to leave with someone."
Kate Beckinsale has no qualms about spending this Christmas with her ex Michael Sheen and his current girlfriend Sarah Silverman. She says she and Michael split up ages ago, but she still really loves him and they make each other roar with laughter. The two have a daughter together, Lily, who is 17. Speaking of Sarah, she adds, "I really love his girlfriend as well and we are lucky we both get on. Having as many strong females in your teenage daughter's life as possible is a good thing."
Kesha took to Instagram on Thursday to reflect on her roller coaster year and promise fans that she will release more music in 2017. She wrote, “Merry everything and happy every day and thank you for not abandoning me while I fight the good fight. I just want to make art. That's all I want for Christmas. And my New Year’s resolution is to finish my record and give it to you. Thank you animals. Love y'all."
Brangelina's divorce proceedings keep getting uglier and uglier. My source tells me that Brad Pitt pulls no punches in evidence he filed to support having custody-related matters sealed. He claims that Angelina Jolie has “no self-regulating mechanism” to block sensitive information from becoming public and, in fact, “appears to be determined to ignore even agreed upon standards relating to the children’s best interest” by, among other things, exposing the names of their kids’ therapists and mental health pros. There's no word yet on any sort of response from Jolie's legal team.
