Bio:
Born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, and moved to Canada as a teen, D’mani was born in 2015 with his first rap single titled “Turnt”. As his interest in music grew, D’mani’s style started to turn back to his Nigerian roots with the Afropop single “Kryptonite” recorded in 2017. In 2018, D’mani began shooting music videos with Director JustJay, starting with “Kryptonite” (2018), “Finesse it” (2018), and “Old Me” (2020). D’mani has had a number of notable performances including a performance for the Ambassador of Nigeria to Canada, three Black History Month events, and opening for Lady Donli, and Teni. D’mani is a character created to represent three personalities: Vince the rapper, Chuks the Afropop artist, and Prince the pop artist. Each of these characters has their own voice and image that defines them in the music. These characters represent the struggle to find an identity living between two worlds: Nigeria and Canada.
