Noushka (Cluny Michel) is an Ottawa native singer-songwriter and dancer from Lac St-Jean and Haiti. Her artist name is a nickname given to her by her father when she was a child. She performed at the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival in 2008 for the opening of Grégory Charles’ show. The artist collaborated with DJ Czitrom, a Swedish music producer for one of her songs in 2011. She had one of her biggest performances at the “Ottawa RBC Bluesfest 2016” as the opening act for Nelly on July 16, 2016. In February 14 2023, Noushka performed the Canadian & American national anthem for the NHL hockey game Canadiens de Montréal VS Chicago Blackhawks for the annual Black History Month game at the Bell Centre. She also performed last summer at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium before the start of the CFL match between the Montreal Alouettes vs. the Edmonton Elks. She sung the Canadian national anthem for the Carabins of Montreal last fall. Furthermore, she was one the French artists performing at the 2022 championship Canadian Elite Basketball League for a 45 minute set. Her first french album ”Futur Daltonien”, distributed by The orchard through the crown music label is now available on all digital platforms since February 11, 2022. This project is inspired by Afro-Canadian history. That said, the singer has 9 music videos released since last year on youtube, including one titled “Anform” in collaboration with the influencer CashBoyReg. The second video, Femme de Caractère, which is her first single from the album, was classified as the best new French song by Apple Music. Qub Musique also put the song in a few playlists such as “Nouveautés Hip-Hop”, “Nouveautés Francophones” as well as “Nouveautés”. Noushka has now released her bilingual Christmas EP on December 2nd ‘’Stunning Xtmas’’. She also begun the year with a single 1804 to represent her haitian heritage. Now Noushka is re-inventing herself with her brand new summer single ‘’Lost n Found’’ with a positive message of self love.
