Coldplay captures its fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, and first in over a decade! “Moon Music” debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200. The album’s vinyl sales totaled 29,000 for the week, Coldplay’s best sales week on vinyl ever. Overall, “Moon Music” marks the 10th top 10-charting effort for the band.
Rihanna has her hands full with two baby boys. With RZA and Riot being infants, RiRi is enjoying all the energy. She told Access Hollywood, “It’s fun, I literally, I enjoy it so much. I am just looking at them and living through them and I’m amazed by every new discovery of theirs, even their boundaries. Netflix canceled the comedy series “Unstable”, starring Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe, after two seasons. The show followed the CEO of a biotechnology company and his estranged son.
Kevin Smith has finally secured the rights to his 1999 film, “Dogma”, after Harvey Weinstein held it for years. Kevin plans to re-release it in theaters and on streaming platforms and is considering expanding the Dogma universe.
“Joker: Folie a Deux” just made more history for a very unfortunate reason. It brought just $40 million domestically in its first week of release with a global haul of $121.1 million. The film is estimated to need at least $450 million to break even and it’s looking like it might not hit the goal. The movie suffered an 81% drop at the domestic box office with around $7 million in ticket sales. That drop is now the worst on record for a comic book movie in its second week.
One deranged clown beat another at movie theaters. “Terrifier 3”, featuring the bloody carnage of Art the Clown, came in first at the box office, pulling in $18 million during its first weekend of release. “Joker: Folie á Deux” tumbled from first place with only $7 million in ticket sales. “The Wild Robot”, “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”, and “Transformers One” round out the top five.
“The Wild Robot” is continuing to entertain audiences and now the director has confirmed that a sequel is in the works. The animated film is in its third weekend at the box office and is a worldwide success. Director Chris Sanders confirmed the sequel plans during a discussion at Deadline Contenders in London on Saturday.
Tom Holland announced that he’s launching a new line of non-alcoholic beer called Bero. “Something’s brewing,” he captioned the post on Instagram. In the post, he’s holding a can while sipping out of a branded beer glass. The news comes over a year after Tom opened up about his journey to sobriety. Bero arrives on October 16.

Robert Smith of The Cure says he’s retiring in five years, when he turns 70 . . . if he makes it that far. “I don’t feel my age at all, but I’m aware of it, and when you get older, that fear of death becomes more real.” The Cure turns 50 in 2028, so maybe we’ll get some cool anniversary stuff. Their new album, “Songs of a Lost World”, drops November 1.

“Lilo & Stitch”, the live-action remake, and “Freakier Friday” sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, are scheduled for release next summer. “Lilo & Stitch” drops May 23, 2025, and “Freakier Friday” on August 8, 2025.
Samara Weaving and filmmaking collective Radio Silence will re-team for “Ready Or Not 2”, the sequel to their 2019 horror hit. The movie follows a bride who becomes part of a deadly family ritual involving a game of Hide & Seek.

November 8, ex-Journey singer Steve Perry will release a ‘re-expanded’ version of his 2021 holiday album “The Season”. The new version will contain 6 additional songs, including ‘What a Wonderful World’. It was initially released in expanded form in 2022, with 10 additional songs.

Billboard has reported a 33% decline in vinyl sales in 2024, with CD and digital album sales also decreasing. Overall, album sales dropped by 23%, falling from 75.5 million units in 2023 to just 57.5 million units in 2024.
