Drake will be the only headliner at July’s Wireless Festival in London. The announcement featured Drake as the closing act for all three nights. Event organizers wrote on Instagram, “IT’S BEEN A WHILE BUT THE BOY IS HOME. For our 20th anniversary. Drake will headline all THREE nights with three different setlists.” The festival takes place from July 11-13.
A New York mag article claims “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels once rebuffed Taylor Swift’s efforts to have a sketch canceled that spoofed her 1989-era. The story says that SNL asked her to appear in the sketch, but she called Lorne directly to decline the offer and ask him to cut it entirely. He apparently responded by saying, “Taylor, I do not negotiate with terrorists.”
Stray Cats frontman Brian Setzer says he cannot play guitar due to an ailment affecting his hands. He posted that toward the end of their tour last summer, “I noticed that my hands were cramping up. I’ve since discovered that I have an autoimmune disease.” He says he is receiving treatment at the Mayo clinic, and “I know I will beat this; it will just take some time.”
Shania Twain guests on the new Stylistics single, ‘Yes, I Am’, available now. Shania wrote the tune, which appears on the soul group’s upcoming album “Falling In Love With My Girl”. It also features contributions from The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, KISS’ Gene Simmons and ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons.

Kendrick Lamar’s post-Super Bowl halftime glow is still going. Jay-Z’s legacy continues to grow. The Recording Academy announced that Jay-Z will enter the Grammy Hall of Fame with his debut album, “Reasonable Doubt”. The Hall of Fame inducted eight albums and five singles to be recognized this May. Jay-Z has 25 Grammy Awards, the most of any rapper.
Drake broke Kendrick Lamar’s record for the biggest streaming day for a rapper in 2025. With the February 14 release of Drizzy’s PARTYNEXTDOOR collab album “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U”, he garnered 92.4 million streams across all platforms. That beat Kendrick’s record of 92.3 million streams.
It looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is alive and well. “Captain America: Brave New World” made $88.5 million in its opening weekend. “Captain America” also earned $92.4 million overseas. “Paddington in Peru” follows at No. 2 with $13 million. “Heart Eyes” got a boost in its second weekend and landed at No. 3 with $10 million
Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus are set to produce a sequel to the 1985 classic “The Goonies”. Details about the storyline and any potential returning cast members remain unknown, but the news comes shortly after Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman and Ke Huy Quan’s reunited for Ke Huy’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremony.
Sharon Stone is in talks to join the cast of the 3rd season of “Euphoria”, along with other new additions including Marshawn Lynch and Rosalia. HBO declined to comment, but production has already begun after a three-year hiatus.
Max has renewed medical drama “The Pitt” for a second season before its first season finale. Starring Noah Wyle, the show follows a trauma team in a Pittsburgh ER during a 15-hour shift per episode. The series has been a strong hit.

“Sonic The Hedgehog 3” film premieres on Paramount+ today, featuring Ben Schwartz, Keanu Reeves, James Marsden & Jim Carrey. The film’s box office success surpassed its two predecessors, earning over $478 million.

Backstreet Boys have added 3 shows to their upcoming Into the Millennium Las Vegas residency at the Sphere on August 1, 2, and 3. Compelling Pictures has partnered with Roy Orbison‘s family to develop both a biopic and documentary on the life of the legendary singer, who was known for hits like “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “Crying,” and “Only the Lonely.” The film is tentatively titled “You Got It”, and the picture will focus on his relationship with his wife Barbara, along with his late career resurgence before his untimely death at 52 in 1988.
NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special achieved an impressive 14.8 million average viewers across NBC and Peacock, marking a substantial increase of 202% from the regular season average of 4.9 million viewers. It was also NBC’s most-watched primetime entertainment telecast in five years.
