Below are some frequently asked questions about our $25,000 Scavenger Hunt contest. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, you can ask it using the contact form below, and a member of our Promotions team will be in touch within one business day.

Q: I can’t be there to validate my items on April 26. Can I still participate?
A: Unfortunately no. All contestants must be able to participate on our verification day, April 26.
Q: Is the contest open to Quebec residents?
A: Yes! Contest is open to all Canadian residents living within the terrestrial broadcast range of the radio station.
Q: Can multiple members of the same household enter the contest?
A: Yes, however one contestant per set of items. You can’t check in with your items and then give them to a member of your household for them to check in with as well.
Q: Will scavenger hunt items be listed online?
A: Yes, you can find the full list (updated weekdays after 9am) on the contest page HERE.
Q: How will the item check in day work?
A: All participants will be emailed instructions the evening of April 25. Please add our Promotions Director, Eric Stacey (estacey@stingray.com) to your address book, so you don’t miss a message!
Q: When is the grand prize winner announced?
A: Monday April 28 during the Morning HOT Tub with Mauler, Rush, Jenni and Brady.
Q: What happens if multiple people have all of the items validated?
A: Each person who successfully has all 15 items validated by the HOT 89.9 judges will be entered into the grand prize draw for the $25,000 prize. Odds of winning will depend on how many successful entries we receive.
Q: Who will be validating the items?
A: We will have a group of judges validating the items. Their decisions on all items is final.
Q: Can I work with a group to find the items?
A: Contestants are welcome to solicit help from friends, family, etc. but only one person will be entered in the Grand Prize draw. Once the items are validated by HOT 89.9 judges, they can’t be used for another contestant. One contestant per set of items.
Q: For the 899 signatures, can I email the template to my friend and have them scan the page and send it back to me?
A: No. Only original signatures in pen ink will be accepted.
Q: There was an update to the 899 signature form, but it has since been changed back to the original. What form do I use?
A: The form currently posted (active at 2:30pm on April 7 2025) is form to use. If you had started collected signatures on form V2, you can continue to use that form, we will no longer be asking for the postal code of signees. That column may remain blank.
Q: I have (insert number) of signatures on the original form, another (insert number) on V2. Are all of those signatures still valid?
A: Yes, you may submit 899 signatures spread out over two forms, provided there are no duplicates.
